ICE FISHING!

Well, I joined the dummy and the bonehead this morning in my first ice fishing trip. I went with Chuck to Highlandtown Lake. It had 7" of ice on it and the temperature was fewer degrees than inches of ice. We sat huddled in a little tent dangling microscopic jigs in 15 feet of water. Even my 4 layers plus coveralls, three pairs of socks and big winter boots could not keep me warm. I probably will never go again if it is as cold as it was this morning, but I can definately see how it could be great fun on a lake where you could catch pike or walleye. A little bigger tent with room for four and you could have a ball all day long with nothing but a 2 ft. rod and a few good friends. I'm definately looking forward to my next trip. Go give it a try...but be safe!

I think I'd pass on that opportunity. I got cold enough walking from my car to the office this morning. The thermometer read -2 and I have no idea about the wind speed...I just know it was mighty Cold and no one needed to be out unnecessarily! Hope you have a good week.

It wasn't too bad. After about 3 minutes I couldn't feel the cold in my fingers and toes! Just kidding, it was cold, but I had about 5 layers on. Longjons, wool pants and shirt, sweaters, sweatshirts, coveralls, etc. I had three pairs of sock (2 of them heavy winter socks) under my big winter boots, but after about three hours the toes were not feeling well. The two of us were in a shanty and out of the wind. Body heat and a lantern kept it fairly warm. Anyway, I won't do it again when it is that cold, but I will go again.

You are a moron Eric. Seriously, what are you thinking? Not like you were going to catch a fish anyways.

Eric, I did not put that. I think it was Andy. But anyway, how are things going? I placed second in my first Public Forum tournament. Something that I don't think anyone has ever done. Anyway, what do you think of Manning and his Super Bowl. Post yes if you think it was the worst played Super Bowl ever. 6 turnovers in trhe first half! Well, I talk to ya later.

You forgot one important item in your post. Did you catch anything? I know people who really like ice fishing. I don't enjoy the cold enough to even try. You and Antonina have a great week.

Yes, we caught some fish. Not enough to make it worth sitting out in THAT cold of weather. Yes, I did think the Super Bowl was not that great of a game. But it was crappy weather. I think it was the last one they will play outdoors. I think Payton was a nonfactor. He played crappy in the first 3 halves, He played well in his 4th half, and then I didn't think he showed up in the Super Bowl. He did win though. But he definately was not MVP 250 yds, 1 TD, 1 Int are not MVP #s. It should have been Dominic Rhoades. He carried the Colts Offense on his back. But the media loves a golden boy...and if you think there is any situation where the Colts win and the powers that be deny Payton his MVP you are crazy!
