Leading God's people in being a community of holiness shaped by and expressed in our commitment to the Wesleyan practices of:
sacramental worship, incarnational evangelism, communal discipleship.
A ritual performed showing that you are called. Also, kind of like at a wedding, we the Pastor asks " are there any objections", this is a time for someone called to really analyze and see if they do feel any objections to the calling.. Also I think physicalling it is showing your dedication to God. This is just my opinion. But I think it's a little on target. Eric, what do you think it is.
Have you done a bracket? I have North Carolina beating Kansas(I had to swallow ALOT of pride for that one) by 11. Kansas has a really good chance and that makes me a little sick. I also think Georgetown will upset your Buckeyes in a close one. If you have one, tell me what you have. Well, talk to ya soon.
I believe ordination is a way of recognizing that a person has a special calling or gift from God for ministry leadership. Why do it? For the same reason a person is Baptized, as a witness to your submission to God (and His leadership in your life.)
In looking at the manual...it states that it is a witness to the CHURCH and world at large that this person evidences an exemplary life of holiness, possesses gifts and graces for public ministry, and has a thirst for knowledge, especially for the Word of God, and has the capacity to clearly communicate sound doctrine.
Quite a lot of responsibility, but with God it is possible!
How do you have kansas beating UNC and Georgetown beating OSU? Georgetown can't play OSU unless they beat UNC?
I do have a bracket, it is just Antonina and me. Winner gets dinner. Anyway, she is beating me!but, she had Texas in the Final Four and they are out after week one...so I still have a chance...
My mistake. I have UNC beating G- Town and then your Buckeyes losing. Which they already should have. Yeah, you can't tell me that foul was not an intentional. Then I have UNC beating KU.
I almost laughed at Antonina but then I remebered I had Duke in the elite eight.
Hey Eric! Yes, Chris is racing, DIRT this year... He built his own car and has put everything on it himself... He starts practice at the Grain Valley Speedway at the first of April. We cannot wait!
I grew up in Circleville, OH where I played many sports in school: wrestling, football, baseball, soccer and where I played trombone in the band.
During Jr High I felt called into Christian ministry. I felt specifically called into youth ministry and went to Mount Vernon Nazarene University. After college I worked to help plant Mt. Vernon West Side Church of the Nazarene. I met Antonina and got married in 2002. After the honeymoon we moved to KC to attend Nazarene Theological Seminary. I served as youth pastor at St Paul's Church of the Nazarene for two and a half years.
I am now the Pastor of Toronto First Church of the Nazarene in Toronto, OH.
We have two sons, Pax and Pierce, and a daughter Pria. We love our dog Magna.
